LLNS Community Giving Programs
Lawrence Livermore National Security, LLC (LLNS) has established two Community Giving Programs benefiting neighboring communities of Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. This program has two important elements:
- A Gift Program, funded at $100,000 a calendar year.
Gifts in amounts ranging from $1,000 to $20,000 will be awarded to nonprofit California educational institutions, IRS-qualified 501 (c)(3) organizations and government agencies serving Alameda, Contra Costa and San Joaquin counties. The primary focus of these gifts will be K-14 science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education, community-service and/or philanthropy in communities having a large population of LLNL employees. For additional information about the LLNS Gift Program, please contact Ann Willoughby at (925) 423-4234 or via email at willoughby1@llnl.gov.
- An annual match (up to $1 million) to the employee donations made in the Lab’s annual HOME Campaign (Helping Others More Effectively).
LLNL has conducted its HOME Campaign for more than 30 years. It has become one of the Livermore-San Joaquin Valley’s most generous annual charity drives. More than 420 non-profit agencies participate in the HOME Campaign and more than $1 million has been raised annually since 1997. The fund-raising drive occurs in October-December of each year. Once the final tally of employee pledges is tabulated, LLNS will match pledge amounts by agency and issue checks to the agencies. Agencies interested in participating in the LLNL HOME Campaign should refer to the LLNL HOME Website.
The 2008 application period for this program has now closed. Award recipients will be notified in early May.
